Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to order an election for November 2, 2010.

The election includes several county positions.  Election Order

The commissioners court voted unanimously to renew a contract with several contractors for disaster or storm debris removal and hauling.  The contract will be renewed for a period of one year, effective September 22.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve making an offer of appointment for the Director of Public Health.  The item was discussed during an executive session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to place tuberculosis patients on the Brazoria County Indigent Care Program.

According to the county administration, "in an effort to enable persons with tuberculosis to obtain needed care, to provide care and treatment for those persons, and to facilitate their hospitalization, the Brazoria County Health Department is hereby instructed to place each person diagnosed with tuberculosis who is not covered by health insurance, Medicaid or Medicare into the Brazoria County Indigent Health Care Program while being treated for such disease".

The commissioners court voted 4-1, with County Judge Joe King opposed, to promote a foreman position to superintendent.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to promote a crew leader position to a foreman position.  A motion made by Commissioner Matt Sebesta to amend the item failed for lack of a second.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approved the deputation of B. Deleon, an employee in the County Clerk's Office.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  All members were present.  Agenda
