Mrs. Tom E. Simpson

Mrs. Tom E. SimpsonMrs. Tom E. Simpson received her reward of eternal rest on August 9, 2010, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.  Mrs. Simpson was born February 18, 1928, to the late Eola Harris and Henry Simpson in Washington County, TX and attended school in Independence, TX. She was employed with UTMB Hospital until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Shiloh AME Church, where she served as a Missionary and Stewardess, in the Lay organization, and Women United.

Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Nolan Guidry, brothers, George, Billy Ray, and Adril Simpson; sisters, Robbie Jean Winston, and Joy Dell Cooper. She leaves behind her legacy through her family, a devoted niece she raised as her daughter, Lisa Cooper; grandchildren, Ashley L., Darrone R., & Dustin R. Cooper; brothers, Joseph, Revell, & Trazell (Lena) Simpson; sister, Mrs. Bobby Simpson; devoted friend, Shirlean Owens, and a host of nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5PM Monday, August 16th followed by a wake from 7-8 p.m. at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating her life will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at the Shiloh A.M.E. Church, with Pastors Eric & Myra Billups officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston, TX.
