The University of Texas System Regents last week launched a new program to attract and retain top faculty researchers; and made several appointments and recognized several educators.
A 6-year-old program aimed at attracting and retaining top faculty from around the world to University of Texas System institutions has generated a net return of more than $345 million in research grants and clinical trial support.
The University of Texas System Board of Regents on August 12 appointed former UT System Regent John W. Barnhill, Jr., of Brenham as a regental representative to the UT Austin Intercollegiate Athletics Council for Men and Ambassador Pamela P. Willeford of Austin as a regental representative for the UT Austin Intercollegiate Athletics Council for Women.
The University of Texas System Board of Regents on August 12 named J. Kyle Bass of Dallas to the Board of Directors of The University of Texas Investment Management Co. (UTIMCO).
Seventy-two faculty members from institutions within The University of Texas System were recognized on August 11 by the Board of Regents for outstanding teaching and will share $2 million in awards.
