The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted unanimously to renew the district's membership in a retainer program with Walsh, Anderson, Brown, Gallegos and Green, PC.

The law firm specializes in school district representation, and offers retainer programs for legal services and special education.

The school board voted unanimously to postpone action on approval of the Coastal Alternative Program for the 2010-2011 school year.

The school board, by consensus, moved consideration of a proposal by Joiner Partnership on an alternative school construction project to the September 28 special called meeting.

The school board voted unanimously to approve an application to operate an Optional Flexible School Day Program for 2010-2011.

The school board took no action regarding employment of new professional employees for the 2010-2011 school year.  The item was discussed during an executive session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote.  Trustees Shirley Price and Ted Robinson, Jr. were absent.  Agenda

During the meeting, Superintendent Mike Bergman was presented the Outstanding CSCOPE Maverick award by Region VI Education Support Center.

The district presented the "Above and Beyond" Citizenship Award to Melvin Fuque.
