Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to authorize the acquisition of The Snow Building, located at 500 North Chenango in Angleton, by the Brazoria County Appraisal District.
The appraisal district is purchasing the building for use as office space.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a seven year, 100 percent tax abatement for Freeport LNG Development, LP.
The company is planning to expand its facility to include an NGL Extraction Unit to remove NGL gas liquids from a vaporized gas stream.
The project is estimated at $58,500,000, and is expected to create 10 new jobs.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve fees for the Sheriff's Office and County Constables.
Existing fees remained unchanged from 2009. However, new fees were added, including a $30 fee for Sheriff/Constable Sale or Trustee Notice, a $30 fee for Sheriff/Constable Deed or Bill of Sale. Additional new fees include a livestock collection fee of $25, an impound fee of $20 per animal, and a kennel fee of $5 per day per animal.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to renew a contract with the Citizen Corps for training of citizen volunteers in emergency preparedness and response activities.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the acquisition of approximately 33 acres of property adjoining Hanson Riverside County Park, located southwest of West Columbia. The purchase will be funded through the 2007 Coastal Impact Assistance Program.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Aaron Wilson to the 4-H Agent Position.
