Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve an administrative services agreement with the Pearland Economic Development Corporation for the utilization of city employees to staff the corporation.
Under the 10 year agreement, the city attorney will serve as the corporation's legal counsel, and the city will administer the corporation's finances, as well as provide other services. The corporation will pay a monthly "flat fee" of $98,297 for the city's services, except for those services designated as a separate expense, for the first year of the contract. The fee will increase each year at a rate of five percent.
The city council tabled action on the approval of the amended bylaws of the Pearland Economic Development Corporation.
The city council took no action regarding a contract for engineering design services associated with the Max Road Sports Complex and Hickory Slough Detention Pond. City staff had recommended award of the contract for the projects to Jacobs Engineering in the amount of $721,860. The projects are both funded through a 2007 bond referendum approved by the voters.
The city council voted unanimously to award a bid for grounds maintenance services to Landscape Professionals of Texas, for a total of $93,986.
The city council tabled action on six items authorizing the city attorney to take steps to obtain property in relation to easements required for the construction of a hike and bike trail. The items would allow the city to file condemnation action for the property required in the project.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Felicia Kyle was absent. Agenda
