Brazoria County to Launch New Discount Prescription Card Program
102,000 Residents Could Reduce Drug Costs Under A New Program
The Brazoria County Commissioner’s Court recently approved a new discount prescription card and will hold a press conference to formally launch the program. The free program, called "BetterRxCard" will provide needed relief from high prescription drug costs to tens of thousands of county residents by providing prescription drug discounts at 45 local participating pharmacies.
Brazoria County residents who are insured will also find a benefit. BetterRxCard comes with a unique, patent-pending feature that helps save money on expensive brand drugs by reducing high co-pay costs.
BetterRxCard program is also available free of charge to local businesses.
57,000 uninsured residents and 45,000 additional insured workers in the county have a monthly prescription drug cost. Most could find relief under this new program.
The briefing will describe the new discount card, how it works, whom it will help, where the free cards may be obtained, how businesses may take advantage of the card, and how it can help insured residents save on co-pays.
