PORT MANATEE OFFERS FREE TOURS

PALMETTO, Florida – Port Manatee is accepting reservations for free one-hour tours for groups and individuals.

The popular open-air tram tours resume after a summer hiatus, featuring colorful descriptions of interesting port activities.

Tours begin at 10 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday from Oct. 27 through May 11, 2011. Each tour goes through the developed property of the port, with descriptions of the many businesses located at Port Manatee.

Security protocols require reservations at least one week in advance. Groups are limited to 75, with all reservations accepted on a first-come, first served basis. Now, groups of five or fewer can book tours with a new online reservation system at www.portmanatee.com. Tours often fill up weeks in advance.

When making reservations, participants must provide the date of birth, email address and contact information for each person in their group. Photo identification is required at check-in.

To make reservations for groups of six or more or for more information, call Port Manatee at 941-722-6621.
