The Friendswood Independent School District Board of Trustees, during a special meeting on Monday, held a public hearing to receive comments regarding the district’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, or FIRST, rating.
Each school district is required to hold a public hearing within two months of receiving a final FIRST rating. The rating system assesses the quality of financial management in Texas public schools. Friendswood ISD received an “Above Standard” Achievement rating.
The rating is determined on 22 separate indicators, including fund balance, bond indebtedness per student, and audit results. FIRST Presentation
