The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted to approve a joint election agreement with the City of Hitchcock.
The Hitchcock City Commission this week also approved the agreement, which will allow the two entities to share costs and equipment for upcoming elections.
The school board took no action regarding calling a reduction in force.
The school board took no action regarding a vacancy on the Texas Association of School Boards, Region 4, Position A seat on the board of directors.
The school board voted unanimously to rescind the resignation of a teacher at the district.
The school board voted unanimously to approve two new teaching positions at Hitchcock Primary School.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Trustee Ted Robinson, Jr. was absent.
During the meeting, the board presented Jimmy Anderson with the “Above and Beyond Citizen” Award for November.
The school board also held a workshop to discuss various items, including the upcoming redistricting process, conceptual plans for a middle school with a gym and cafeteria, and a concession stand at Hitchcock High School. No action was taken on any of the items.
