Historic Lynchburg Ferry Holiday Lighting Ceremony
Set for November 29th
Harris County Precinct Two Commissioner Sylvia R. Garcia will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus, a children’s choir from Sam Houston Elementary School in Galena Park ISD, musicians from Baytown Sterling High School in Goose Creek ISD and school mascots from Goose Creek Memorial High School, Baytown Sterling High School and Baytown Lee High School in the annual lighting of the historic Lynchburg Ferry on the Monday night following Thanksgiving.
The event, now in its eighth year, is sponsored by the engineering firm of Bury & Partners Engineering Solutions. Refreshments will be provided by The Monument Inn and handed out by volunteers from The Pilot Club of Highlands.
“This has always been a special event for the entire community,” Garcia said. “Every year we’ve seen this unique gathering grow into a special tradition for families.”
The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the actual lighting immediately following sunset.
Photographs with Santa will be available for children.
The event is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 29th at the North Landing of the Lynchburg Ferry located at 1001 Independence Parkway N.
