Baytown Symphony Orchestra Concert to feature local student artists
BAYTONWN Texas
– On Saturday, Dec. 4, and Sunday, Dec. 5, all eyes will be focused on the main stage of the Lee College Performing Arts Center as local elementary students Maggie Watson and Hallie Lord join the Baytown Symphony Orchestra and the Bay Area Mass Choir in presenting a
Christmas Fantasy
concert.
A fifth-grader at Barber’s Hill Intermediate, 10-year-old Lord is a talented vocalist and pianist who loves swimming, jumping on the trampoline and playing volleyball. Her solo performance will be featured in the selection,
In the Bleak Midwinter
.
Eight-year-old Maggie Watson is home educated and attends First Baptist Church in Baytown. She began singing in church choirs when she was four years old, currently studies theater and piano, and takes private recorder lessons at First Baptist Church Arts Academy. Maggie also enjoys reading, bowling, playing video games and putt-putt golf. Her solo performance will be featured in the selection,

.
Maggie is on pins and needles as she anticipates her big night.
“I love to sing because its fun. I’m excited about the solo; and a little nervous.”
Christmas Fantasy
will be held at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 4 and 5. General admission prices are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. A limited number of tickets are still available for Sunday night’s performance; tickets may be purchased at the Lee College Bookstore, or by calling 281-425-6578.
As a courtesy to musicians and audience members, the Baytown Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors sincerely asks that children under the age of seven not attend concerts.
