Margaret Ann Dillard DeLuca, 58, a longtime resident of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She was surrounded by loving family.

Mrs. DeLuca was born January 29, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.  She was a long time employee of Schutte’s Corner. 

Mrs. DeLuca is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph DeLuca, her parents, Walter and Frances Shoemaker, Sr., her siblings, Linda Shoemaker and Walter Shoemaker, Jr.  She leaves behind her children, Toni Ramirez of Clovis, New Mexico, Tammy Christensen of League City, Texas, Amy Dillard of Sasche, Texas, Misti Dillard of Palestine, Texas and Garry Dillard, Jr. of League City, Texas and nine grandchildren.  Sharing in Margaret’s loss, is her brother, Charles Shoemaker of Lakeside, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, devoted friend Sheila Lanesey and many others whose friendships with Margaret will forever be remembered.

Mrs. DeLuca’s family will share a time of comfort and remembrance of her life with a Memorial Service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010, at Carnes Brother’s Funeral Home, 1201 23rd Street, Galveston, Texas. Friends are welcome to attend.

Mrs. DeLuca’s family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory be made to Toys for Tots or a charity of one’s choice.
