James Paul Christian Jr., 59, of Galveston passed away on December 1, 2010, VA Medical Center in Houston, TX. James was born August 8, 1951, to James Paul, Sr. and Maudry Ardoin Christian. James, Jr. attended Galveston public schools and later joined the US Navy, where he served as a submarine plant operator and electrical supervisor. He later worked in the hotel industry as an auditor. During his spare time, James enjoyed putting a smile on someone's face by expressing a great sense of humor.
James, Jr. is preceded in death by his father, James Paul Christian, Sr. and grandmother, Goldie (Lola) Dantzler. He is survived by his mother, Maudry Christian; wife, Linda Miles; daughters, Maudry & Paula Cooper, and Kayla Miles; sons, Keon Cooper and Kenneth Javon Christian; sister, Pamela Lewis (Chris); brothers, Billy Christian (Valerie), Ronnie Christian (Dee), and Sean Christian; grandchildren, Keywan Cash, Briana and Isaiah Cooper and Kaleb Sinclair; aunts, Dorothy Anderson(Clifford); a host of other close family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, December 6, 2010, at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at St. John Baptist Church with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
