John Thomas (Jack) Siller, Sr.
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

John Thomas (Jack) Siller, Sr.John Thomas (Jack) Siller, Sr., 77, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010, at UTMB Hospital.

 

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 15th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial to follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

 

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, December 14th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 6:30 pm.

 

John was born April 13, 1933, to Ladislav Kellom and Mary Bridget Siller.  He graduated from Kirwin High School with the Class of 1951 and was also a graduate of International Business Machine School.  He married Alberta Marie (Plain) Siller on August 1, 1953.  John served in the US Navy and Naval Reserves in 1952 and 1953.  He was employed at UTMB for 8 years in the I.B.M. department and then worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in the I.B.M. and Freight Claims department for 5 years until Santa Fe closed its offices in Galveston and moved them to Amarillo, Texas.  John, being a “BOI” chose to stay in Galveston and went to work as a clerk/timekeeper for the Maritime Association ILA Local 1665 until his retirement.  He was a devoted member of the Catholic faith.


John was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; brothers, Lawrence Ladislav Siller and Gustav Joseph Siller; and sisters, Cornelia Ann (Siller) Mongan and Mary Alice Siller.

 

He is survived by his sons: John T. Siller, Jr.; Michael D. Siller; Mark C. Siller and wife, Julie; daughters: Sharon K. Kamp and husband, Gerald; Tammy R. Schlotter; Laurie D. Khan and husband, Shah.  “PaPa” will be missed by grandchildren: Kimberly Bland; John Siller, III and wife, Tracy; Danielle Rafferty and boyfriend Dennis; Caitlyn Siller; Krista Kamp; Norman Schlotter, Jr. and wife, Josephine; Steven Schlotter and girlfriend, Kendra; Farah Lawler and husband, Justin; Kamran Khan; and great grandchildren:  Lexi and Kailee Bland; Claire and Kendall Siller; Brooklyn and Drayden Hartman; Devin, Kendrick, Benz, and Zada Schlotter, and Amatzia Lopez; and Amira Lawler.  

 

Pallbearers will be Skip McComb, Toby Mongan, Norman Schlotter, Steven Schlotter, Barry Siller, John Siller, III, and Larry Siller.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Texas Gulf Coast Chapter, 5005 Mitchelldale, Suite 115, Houston, TX 77092.
