Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a resolution supporting the development of $2 billion in Liquefied Natural Gas liquefaction, storage and export facilities by Freeport LNG on land leased from the Port of Freeport on Quintana Island.
“The proposed facilities would bring much-needed employment to Brazoria County, including more than 1,000 construction jobs over two-to-three years and 20-30 permanent jobs to operate and manage facilities,” stated the resolution.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Commissioner Matt Sebesta as a member and Commissioner Dude Payne as alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy Council, as well as appoint County Engineer Gerald Roberts as member and Assistant County Engineer Michael Shannon as alternate to the H-GAC’s Technical Advisory Committee.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Jarrod Smith to the Emergency Services District No. 3 Board of Directors.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Janet Parker to the Children’s Protective Services Board.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Frances Jammer to the CPS Advisory Board.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Larenda Smith as a reserve deputy constable in Constable Precinct 4.
