GALVESTON-Anna Williams, 89, departed this life on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at her residence.

Anna was born March 24, 1921, in Huntsville, Texas. A longtime resident of Galveston, she was a retired custodian with G.I.S.D. and loved to babysit in her spare time. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Ned and Savanah Smith; ex husband, Eddie Williams; daughter, Eddie Mae Williams-Frenchwood; common law husband, L.C. Usher; sisters, Mandy Hamilton and Erma Kizzie.

She leaves with precious memories, her son: Charles Williams; grandchildren, Rev. Elroy Thomas, Tamika O’Neal, Miyoshi Oliver, Kendrick McKinney, Ron Johnson, Terry Jackson, Tevara Richards, Anette Scurry and Vivian Jackson; host of great and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

Visitation will be held on today, Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 9-10:45 AM, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at Greater Mt Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Dwyer officiating.
