Edith M. Wisner-Styron

Edith M. Wisner-StyronEdith M. Wisner-Styron, loving wife, sister, and beloved family member went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2011 in Galveston at the age of 43. She was born on September 15, 1967 to Eddie C. Wisner and Kathleen Scrafone-Foster in Houston. Edith was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic in Galveston where she resided most of her life. Edith was preceded in death by her father Eddie C. Wisner, grandparents Samuel and Rose Scrafone, grandmother Viola Clark, and stepfather James S. Foster.

Edith leaves behind many fond memories with her family: devoted husband, Kendall Styron; mother, Kathleen Scrafone-Foster of Galveston; grandparents, William and Mary-Katherine Clark of Texas City; siblings: sister, Laura Wisner-Perez and husband Gustavo of Texas City; brothers: Mike Wisner and wife Tammy of Galveston, Jimmy Wisner and wife Stacy of Galveston; half-brothers: Greg Wisner and wife Dana of Athens, TX, and Jeff Wisner of Austin, TX. mother-and father-in-law, Sheron Styron and the late Roger Styron of Dayton, TX; sisters-in-law: Crystal Guidry and husband Brent of Dayton, TX, Valerie Sims and husband Joseph of Dayton, TX, and Suzanna Smoke and husband Todd of Hardin, TX; brother-in-law: Shannon Styron and wife Amber of Hardin, TX; devoted lifelong friend, Jennifer Scofelia-Myers; numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews, great niece and family and friends.

Edith graduated from Ball High School in 1986. She spent the majority of her career working as a bookkeeper in Galveston. Edith had a passion for life, spending time with family, nieces, nephews, friends, and time outdoors. Edith was a very loving and courageous woman with a heart full of love and compassion for others. No one was ever a stranger to Edith; she was always there to help and embraced everyone. Edith touched many lives. She will be truly missed by everyone in her life. 

Pallbearers will be: Marcus Starr, Bill McCauley, Gustavo “Tavo” Perez, Aaron Perez, Shannon Styron and Brent Guidry. Honorary Pallbearers are: Steven Myers, Bud Mike Killop, Joseph Sims, Markus Wisner and Samuel Wisner.

Edith’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, 3028 Broadway, Galveston, Texas 77550.  A rosary service will follow at 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 5, 2011, with interment following at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery, 7301 Memorial Drive, Hitchcock, Texas 77563.
