Man Charged in Theft Case 

FRIENDSWOOD - Jonathan Robert McMinn, 25, of Bayview was arrested January 5, 2011 on a Theft warrant issued as the result of a Friendswood investigation.

McMinn was stopped for a traffic violation on September 7, 2010. During the stop, officers noticed several varied electronic items in McMinn's vehicle. McMinn at the time was arrested for Driving While License Invalid and the property stored at the Friendswood Police Department for safekeeping. 

A routine review of the property led police to believe that the property did not belong to McMinn and the subsequent investigation led to the location of property owners in Sugar Land, College Station, and League City. The victims told police that the items had been stolen or were thought to be lost.

A warrant for McMinn's arrest was issued December 13, 2010. He was arrested January 5 when he came to the Friendswood Police Department to retrieve "his property".  His bond is set at $5000. He will be transferred to the Galveston County Jail later today. 

McMinn's criminal history lists several arrests and convictions for theft and burglary.
