Mario Joseph GarciaMario Joseph Garcia, 53, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at his residence.

The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Friday, January 7th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 8th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Mario was born July 8, 1957, in Galveston, and spent many happy times attending the Sunshine Training Center.  He loved his neighbors and “his” truck, “Pooh-Pooh.”

Mario was preceded in death by his father, Mario Garcia.  He is survived by his mother, Adele Garcia; brother, Michael Garcia and wife Claudia; sister, Ruth Ann Wilson; nephews, Michael and Gabriel Garcia and Lester Wilson; nieces, Letisha Wilson, Nina Aguilar and husband, Alejandro, and Denise Gay-Wilson; aunts, Minnie Salinas, Helen Lozano, and Marion Gonzales; uncle, Albert (Beto) Garcia and wife, Stella; and numerous cousins and beloved great nieces and great nephews.

Pallbearers will be Henry M. Cantu, Crystal Teague, Lupe Gonzales, Albert D. Garcia, Alex Garcia and Richard Martinez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Wilson and Michael Garcia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sunshine Training Center, 1726 21st Street, Galveston, TX 77550.  409.763.5029.
