Leroy Clark, Sr.
Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary

Leroy Clark, Sr.Leroy Clark, Sr., 80, passed away on January 4, 2011, at his residence. Leroy was the last of seven children born to Spencer and Odeal Toliver Clark on October 8,1930, in Meeker, LA.  Leroy worked as a boilermaker at Todd's Shipyard, until he retired.  While retired and before his illness, you could find Leroy wherever there was a good challenging domino game. He was never one to pass up on a good game of bones and he had no mercy for beginners and non-players.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  brothers, George, Spencer III and Leon Clark; sisters, Corean and Pearl Compton and grandson, Jaime Clark.

He leaves to cherish memories, his wife, Florence Clark of Galveston, TX; his sons, Leroy Clark, Jr. & Ramon Clark of Alexandria, LA, and George Clark of Galveston, TX; step-son, Michael Antwine of Houston, TX; his daughters, Sylvia Nellons of Syracuse, NY, Ginger Lee, Ava Jackson, Lutisha Clark & Chandra Clark all of Alexandria, LA and Odelia (Milton)Williams of Texas City, TX; brother, Arthur (Ethel) Clark of LeCompte, LA; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other devoted relatives and family friends.

A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1PM in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary, Dr. Larry Martin, Sr. officiating.

Floral or memorials may be sent to Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary, 3828 Avenue O, Galveston, Texas.
