Rev. Msgr. Eugene Cargill, 76, of League City, Texas passed away on January 17, 2011.

He was born on July 27, 1934 to Henry and Pearl Cargill in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Edith Sabatier. He is survived by his sisters; Dolores Celli Jensen and husband, Jens Jr., Gwendolyn "Susie" Williams, and Barbara Danner, nieces and nephews, Mildred "Mikki" Celli Abshier, Mark Sabatier, Lisa Sabatier, Sandy Sabatier Saeed, Michael Sabatier and wife Sandy, Crystal Sabatier Foreman and husband Chris, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was a parish priest for over 50 years, serving many local churches. Some of the churches he has served include; Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson, Sacred Heart Church in Galveston, and St. Mary Catholic Church in League City.  

A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church in League City. A Vigil  will be held at 7:00 P.M.  with His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo officiating. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St Mary Catholic Church in League City. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson. Pallbearers: Mark Sabatier, Michael Sabatier, Brent Walker, Matthew Sabatier, Jasper Liggio, Tim Sauser, Sr., and Dr. Mike Magliolo.
