Lloyd D. Wheeler

Lloyd D. Wheeler, "Shadow", "T-Spoon"Lloyd D. Wheeler, "Shadow", "T-Spoon", departed this life on January 19, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospital of Houston-Clear Lake.

He was born on January 14, 1942, in Midland City, AL. to Willie Wheeler and Lola Pearl Miller. He attended school in Pinckard, AL . Lloyd later moved to Galveston, TX, where he worked as a union worker with the North America Labors Union (ILA #154). He then moved to Texas City where he became a resident for many years.

 He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. L.D. & Mrs. Lottie C. Helms; and one brother, John A. Wesley. He is survived by his wife of  35 years, Bertha Guillory Wheeler of Texas City, TX; mother, Mrs. Lola P. Miller of Galveston, TX; one sister, Mary C. Russell (Calvin) of Colorado Springs, CO; four brothers, Andrew Miller, Jr. (Ella), and Tommy Taylor, all of Galveston, TX, Eddie Foy Wesley (Sarah), and Jacob Taylor (Peggy), all of Midland City, AL.; and  a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2011, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive  Baptist Church (3602 Sealy-Galveston, TX) Rev. Norris D. Burkley, Sr. Pastor, Rev. E. R. Johnson officiating.

Floral or memorials may be sent to Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary, 3828 Avenue O, Galveston, Texas.
