Grand Jury Indicts Jeffrey Stern for Soliciting Wife's Murder

Houston, TX
- A Harris County Grand Jury has indicted Jeffrey Stern, 53, of Bellaire on two counts of solicitation of capital murder in the attempts to take the life of his wife, Yvonne Stern. The indictments accuse him of soliciting Michelle Gaiser to arrange for the murder of his wife in April and May of 2010.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office has requested that bond be set at $500,000 on each of the two cases. If convicted of the first-degree felony charge, the punishment would range from 5 to 99 years or life in prison, and fine of up to $10,000.

The Grand Jury indicted Stern on Jan. 24, but the indictments remained sealed until today (Jan. 31). The cases will be heard in the 262nd District Court.
