1979 MURDER REMAINS UNSOLVED

HOUSTON – Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Cold Case Unit need the public’s help in solving a capital murder case from 1979.

On Monday, July 2, 1979, John Theologos (pictured) was found dead inside his home at 13 River Haven in Channelview. He had been stabbed. Mr. Theologos’ car had been stolen, but was later recovered on Cavalcade near the North Loop. John Theologos was 49 years old.

Anyone with information about the killer(s) in this case is asked to please contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (713-222-8477) or the HCSO’s Cold Case Unit at 713-967-5911.

This is one of several cold cases that the HCSO is featuring every week in hopes of gathering new information that may help solve them. For many of these cases, there is very little information, so investigators are relying solely on the public’s tips.
