News Release
Wednesday, February 09, 2011

HOUSTON – Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Cold Case Unit need the public’s help in solving a capital murder case from 1989.

The victim is 32-year-old Pamela Sims.

On Thursday, August 3, 1989, Sims was working as a clerk at the Tip-Top Cleaners located at 547 Greens Parkway in north Harris County. At about 5 p.m., a customer entered the business and found Ms. Sims’ body. She had been shot.

A short time earlier two suspicious males were seen inside the business. They are described as follows:

Suspect #1: Black male; approximately 25 years old; 5'10" tall; 170 lbs.

Suspect #2: Black male; approximately 18-20 years old; 5'11" tall; 190 lbs.

One of the suspects may have a “lazy” eye or a defect with his right eye.

Anyone with information about the killers in this case is asked to please contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (713-222-8477) or the HCSO’s Cold Case Unit at 713-967-5911.

This is one of several cold cases that the HCSO is featuring every week in hopes of gathering new information that may help solve them. For many of these cases, there is very little information, so investigators are relying solely on the public’s tips.
