Galveston Police and Texas City Police FIT Team Up for GREAT RESULTS !

Despite severe weather warnings on Wednesday evening , 2/9/11 the Galveston Police Department's Special Operations Unit and the Texas City Police Department's Field Investigation Team (FIT) joined forces to apprehend Galveston's Top-10 Wanted Persons with Municipal Warrants living in the Texas City, Texas area. Several weeks ago we contacted Texas City PD and presented a proposal to join forces and bring our offenders to justice. Chief Burby and Captain Clements approved the proposal and offered the assistance of their Field Investigative Team that was able to greatly assist with preplanning and operational intelligence to maximize the use of both agencies personnel and resources.

The Operation was considered a success although 2 offenders have not yet been located, especially with the limited hours of actual field operations. The Galveston Police Department is charged with serving of all outstanding municipal warrants issued by of our Municipal Court. The below listed persons were arrested during this operation.

                                Ava Phillips- 12 warrants
                                Jason England- 1 warrant
                                Veronia Garza- 7 warrants
                                Trevor Huffman- 6 warrants
                                Leslie Robinson- 1 warrant
                                Dashone Shinnette- 2 warrants
                                Bertrand Estrade- 4 warrants
                                Jeanie Cartier- 7 warrants

The total monetary amount of the warrants totaled $12,727.50.  You will see more planned operations such as this in the near future according to Lt. Porretto. We are urging anyone with outstanding municipal warrants to contact the City of Galveston Municipal Court @ 409-765-3740.
