Arthur (Bubba) Sam Autrey, Jr.Arthur (Bubba) Sam Autrey, Jr., 74, of Galveston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, with his children by his side.  He owned Autrey Roofing Company from 1956 until 2006 and enjoyed fishing and gaming.  He will be remembered for his love of joking and his ability to make people laugh.

Mr. Autrey was preceded in death by his mother, Olga C. Armstrong; father, Arthur Sam Autrey, Sr., and brothers, Edward and Albert Autrey.  He is survived by his daughter, Carole A. Autrey and James L. Tipton; son, Thomas A. Autrey and wife, Wendy; grandchildren: Jay Garcia and Kristen and Paige Autrey; sisters, Della Moore, Mary Bell and husband, Floyd, and Daisy Joy; brother, Marvin Autrey and wife, Barbara; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Autrey’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, February 13th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 14th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston.

Pallbearers will be Daryn Mardis, Johnny Kupsa, Braden Burch, James Burch, Floyd J. Bell, and Jay Garcia.

Mr. Autrey’s family wishes to extend special thanks to Harborview Care Center of League City and Hospice nurse, Janice Smith, for their compassionate care.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
