Clara Marie Welch
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Clara Marie WelchClara Marie Welch, 77, formerly of Galveston, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, at Bay Oaks Care Center in Texas City.

 

Her family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Sunday, February 20th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.

 

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Monday, February 21st, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with burial following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

 

Clara was born December 8, 1933, in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She was a homemaker and loving mother of five children.  She was also active in the Heart Fund and March of Dimes and loved going for walks. A sweet friend to everyone she met, Clara will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.

 

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Icy McJunkin; brothers, John and Max McJunkin; daughter, Billie Riehl; and former husband, Bill Welch.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Sammye Garcia and husband, Clemente; and Jeanie Ibert and husband, Michael; sons, Bobby Welch and wife, Kathy; and Ernie Welch; sister, Helen Banuelos; grandchildren: Clemente III, Nicholas, Lindsay, Ryan, Jamie, Rudy IV, John, Jessica, Nicole, Allison, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Jake, William, and Amber; and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved most dearly.

 

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Garcia, Ryan Garcia, Clemente Garcia, IV, Brandon Maelstrom, Joe Garcia, and Michael Garcia.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Garcia, Dominic Garcia, John Welch, Benjamin, Jake and William Welch, and Rudy Riehl, IV.

 

Memorials may be made to Compassus Hospice,  1100 Gulf Freeway South, League City, TX 77573.
