TOTAL CLOSURE SCHEDULED OVER THE WEEKEND ON
IH 610 NORTH LOOP EASTBOUND BETWEEN US 59 AND IH 10
“Striping of the Mainlanes and Placing of Concrete on the New Kelly St. Bridge”
(Houston) – A total closure of the mainlanes of the IH 610 North Loop eastbound is scheduled to take place over the weekend. The closure is necessary for the roadway contractor to stripe the mainlanes and place concrete for the new Kelley Street Bridge. Motorists may experience delays and should consider an alternate route if possible.
On February 19 at 5 a.m. until February 20 at 12 a.m. there will be a total closure of the IH 610 North Loop eastbound mainlanes of from IH 10 to US 59.
Also, on February 20 at 5 a.m. through February 21 at 12 a.m. the contractor will close the eastbound lanes of IH 610 from US 59 to IH 10.
- All IH 610 eastbound traffic will be detoured via US 59 northbound or southbound. Motorists destined to IH 610 East Loop can take US 59 going southbound to IH 10 East back to IH 610.
The reconstruction of the IH 610 North Loop east of US 59 is a $76 million project that will reconstruct 5.3 miles of freeway, including overpasses and approaches. The contract was awarded to W.W. Webber, Inc., in August 2006.
