Shots Fire Toward Officers at 4000 North Freeway

Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect(s) who fired shots in the direction of two HPD officers in the 4000 block of the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 1:50 a.m. today (Feb. 22).

The suspect(s) were seen driving in a white sedan and black sedan on the mainlanes of the freeway.

The officers were not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K.R. Tolls and Officer K.L. Meek reported:

Two officers with the Vehicular Crimes Division were conducting a traffic stop on the freeway feeder road when they noticed two sedans, one white and the other black, drive by at a low speed on the mainlanes on the freeway.  At that time, a person(s) from inside one or both vehicles fired about six or seven shots in the officers' general direction.  The officers pursued the vehicles, but were unable to catch up to them.

Anyone with information in this incident is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
