Bradford Lee "Scooby" Deyon, Sr.

Bradford Lee "Scooby" Deyon, Sr., 57, of Houston, passed away on February 24, 2011, at his residence. Bradford was born October 3, 1953, in Galveston, TX and was a 1972 graduate of Ball High School, where he excelled in football and earned the nickname "Scooby". After graduation, he attended Los Angeles City College, University of Houston and later joined the Unites States Air Force. Bradford was employed as a Bio-Medical Technician until his retirement. After his retirement, Bradford became a self-employed businessman and Concert Promoter with Bradford Deyon Concert Sales. He enjoyed many things such as the beach, music, promoting his concerts, barbequing, and most of all; he had a great love for his family and being a father.
Bradford was preceded in death by his parents, Roland, Sr. and Myrtle Deyon. He is survived by his children: sons, Brodrick (Filgia) Norman (Hedge Fund Mgr.), Bradford (Donshika) Deyon, Jr. (Entrepreneur), Derek Deyon, Esq., and Chris (LaToya) Deyon (Rapper); daughter, Dr. Sheila Chachere; seven grandchildren; brothers, Roland Deyon Jr. and Aaron Deyon (Diana); sister, Yvonne Deyon; devoted friend and ex wife, Joyce Deyon-Sallier; and a host of nieces, nephews, New Hope Family of Houston, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will begin at 4PM Wednesday, March 2nd, followed by a wake from 7-8 pm in the chapel of Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, (2917 Sealy). Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston, TX.
