Daniel (Danny) Moran, Jr.
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Daniel (Danny) Moran, Jr.Daniel (Danny) Moran, Jr., 59, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011.

His family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Thursday, March 3rd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm, led by Pastor Rudy Soto, with a reception celebrating Danny’s life to follow at the funeral home.  Per his wishes, Danny will be cremated.

Danny was born May 14, 1951, in Galveston, TX, and attended Kirwin High School.  He was an avid surfer in his youth and spent his working career as a longshoreman for ILA Local #20.  Danny loved cooking, dining out, and going crabbing.  He had a big heart and was always ready with a helping hand for those in need.  He leaves behind many good memories with his neighbors.  He also had a soft spot for his beloved “Baby Cat.”

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Dee Moran and Daniel Moran, Sr.

He is survived by his lifelong friend, Yolanda Moran; stepsons, Mark Paez and wife, Crystal; and Kevin Paez; brother, Larry Moran and Sherry; special cousin, Chuco Galicia; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Danny’s family wishes to extend special thanks to Monica O’Donohoe at UTMB and all of ILA Local #20 for their support during this difficult time.
