Women who want to learn more about managing their personal finances will benefit from a free four-day workshop Lamar State College-Port Arthur.
“Wi$e-Up: Financial Education for Women,” set for March 14-17, covers basic information and action plans for money management, including credit, savings, insurance and risk management, investing and achieving financial security.
Shina Chun, director of the Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor, said, “A woman who is able to be economically self-sufficient is a woman who brings strength to her family.”
The workshop is free, but reservations are required. The registration deadline is Wednesday, March 9. To register, call 835-8461.
The workshop will be held in Room 122 of the LSC-PA Performing Arts Center, 1700 Procter Street.
