Tera “Babe” Holman
Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary

Tera “Babe” HolmanTera “Babe” Holman, 93, received her reward of eternal rest on Friday, February 25, 2011, at UTMB Hospital.

Tera was born November 2, 1917, in Garrison, TX. After receiving her public education, she attended Bishop College in Marshall, TX. She later would move to Galveston and join the staff of John Sealy Hospital in the Pediatric Dept., and retired from UTMB after 35 years of service. She was a faithful member of the Live Oak Baptist Church, serving as its’ church secretary for 50 years. She loved watching sport and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Canzetia Holman; son, Walter A. Kay, Jr.; stepson, Delmar Lee Burleson; brother, L.C. Clinton, and half brother, Jack Holman; grandson, Reginald Burleson.

She leaves her legacy of life with her son, Willie Burleson of Galveston;  14 grandchildren; host of great and great great grandchildren; cousin, Mattie Lloyd of Kilgore, TX; devoted friends, Ruby Wafer, Dossie Gray, Olivia Wilson, and Cleo Coleman of Humble, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Robert Beach and Dr. James Godwin and their staffs, and the entire staff of 10C at UTMB.

Visitation will begin at 9AM on Saturday, March 5, 2011, followed by a service celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at the Live Oak Baptist Church with Dr. Vernon L Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Memorial contribution can be made to Hospice Care Team of Texas City in memory of Tera Holman.
