Herbert Lemelle
Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary

Herbert LemelleHerbert Lemelle, 53, departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at his residence.

Hebert was born July 7, 1957, in Ville Platte, LA. He attended James Stephen High School in Ville Platte. His hobbies was fishing, cooking and fixing old car, and was employed at UTMB Hospital, and also was a former member of Sunlight Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lougenia Wilson Lemelle; brother, Shelton Lemelle; sisters, Shirley and Lougenia Lemelle.

He is survived by his sons, Herbert Lemelle, Jr.(Fashaun), Armond Lemelle, Sr., stepson, Johnnel Hines; daughters, Herkia Lemelle, Victoria Scurry, stepdaughter, Vickie Cunningham; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Sharon Lemelle, Alex Lemelle, Sherman Lemelle and Carl Lemelle; sisters, Jerry Lemelle, Elverta Wesley, Emily Guyton and Comelia Thomas; devoted companion, Mary Bales; aunts, Louanna Thomas and Lucille Frank; devoted friend, William Davis; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 5PM on Friday, March 4th followed by a wake from 7-8PM at Fields-Johnson Family Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2011, at St John Baptist Church Rev Louis Simpson, Pastor, Rev Gary Warner eulogist. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
