City of Shoreacres
News Release
Thursday, March 10, 2011

After robbing a bank on NASA Parkway an armed suspect fled north on Kirby to Red Bluff where a Lakeview PD officer spotted the suspect’s vehicle with a red dye charge released inside.

A pursuit was underway towards SH-146 where the suspect turned north. Shoreacres’ officers monitoring the police radio communications shutdown the intersection of SH-146 at Shore Acres Blvd. Stopped traffic forced the suspect to attempt travel on the shoulder (mud) to avoid being trapped among the stopped cars. Just prior to reaching Shore Acres Blvd four Shoreacres officers, two armed with rifles, intercepted the suspect and made the arrest.

The chase was concluded without injury to the suspect, officers, or the public. Likewise no collision with other vehicles or objects have been reported.
