Hitchcock Independent School District
Board of Trustees

The Hitchcock Independent School District Board of Trustees, in a special meeting on Monday, voted unanimously to name Lee Knapp as interim superintendent.

Knapp has served as interim superintendent for the district on prior occassions.

The district placed Superintendent Dr. Michael Bergman on leave last week. The board had recently extended Bergman’s contract for one year. Bergman had also notified the board of his plans to retire.

The school board voted to approve the issuance of $5.4 million in unlimited tax qualified school construction bonds.

The school board voted to approve the issuance of $6.626 million in unlimited tax school building bonds.

No other action items were on the agenda. All votes were unanimous with Shirley Price, Pat Turner and Ted Robinson, Jr. absent.  Agenda
