UHCL Kicks Off Success Through Education Programs

University of Houston-Clear Lake’s School of Education kicked off its spring 2011 Success Through Education Programs event with a luncheon recognizing its scholarship recipients and program.
STEP is a collaborative effort with UH-Clear Lake and four area school districts and four community colleges to create opportunities to prepare students for a career in teaching. UH-Clear Lake partners include Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District and Lee College, Galveston Independent School District and Galveston College, Galena Park School District and San Jacinto North Community College and Houston ISD and Houston Community College- Southeast. STEP also receives scholarship support from the Greater Texas Foundation. The luncheon included the presentation, “Teachers as Leaders in Training,” given by UHCL Assistant Director of Student Life Jennifer Clark.
