Lula Murl Boyd Eppson, 89, received her eternal reward of rest on March 21, 2011, at her residence.
Lula was born on February 15, 1922, to the late Harry and Hattie Boyd. She worked as a greeter for Whataburger and was a member Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she served in the Mission and Choir. Her favorite hobby was cooking her famous pound cakes.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy Eppson, Sr.; son, Leroy Eppson, Jr.; brothers, Rufus, Joseph, Santee Sr., Earnest, Sr.; sisters, Elsie McClain, Tardie Maddox, and Patsy Goree.
She is survived by her daughter, Eletha Archie; grandchildren, Veronica Holmes (Terrance), Audie Ray Archie (Niecy), Antoinette Archie; five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, Samuel Boyd (Dorothy); sister, Charity Peterson; a hosts of nieces and nephews; special friend, Mr. Hall; and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church beginning at 5PM on Friday, March 25th followed by a wake from 7-8PM. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Greater St. Matthews Baptist Church in Hitchcock Pastor W.L. Randall, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, TX.
