Tobias "Toby" Thomas Mongan, Jr.
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Tobias “Toby” Thomas Mongan, Jr., born June 24, 1929, to Tobias and Clementine Mongan in Galveston, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Houston, Texas. Mr. Mongan was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galveston and a graduate of Ball High School. He retired from The Lipton Tea Company after more than 30 years of service.

Mr. Mongan was preceded in death by his parents, Tobias and Clementine Mongan; wife, Cornelia “Connie;” and his sisters, Clementine Claire Mongan Celli and Mary Margaret Mongan Lanterman. Survivors include his son, Toby T. Mongan III and wife, Karen; grandchildren, Austin Carr Mongan and Katherine Ann Mongan, all of Sugar Land, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Mongan’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, March 30th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 31st, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1010 35th Street in Galveston. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston.

For those desiring, the family suggests memorial donations be made to either the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P O Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486, or to The Alzheimer’s Association, Houston & Southwest Chapter, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008.
