Alice Robinson, 78, received her reward of eternal rest on March 19, 2011 at UTMB. Alice was born January 24, 1933 in Hamburg, LA to David, Sr. and Melina Benjamin West. She was educated in Bunkie, LA and moved to Galveston in 1963. She retired from UTMB after 28 years of service. She also was a faithful member of Live Oak Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, with the Mission and Prayer Band, and sang in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Sr. and Clifton West, Sr., sisters, Eva White and Landonia Frields; God-grandchild, Aliana Williams.
She leaves with cherished memories, a devoted daughter, Linda Robinson-Tillmon (Rev. Kevin); brother, David West, Jr. (Glenda); sister, Lena West; step son, Harold Robinson; stepdaughter, Cynthia Robinson; God- grandchildren, Tamechia Pete, Chelsea Washington, Durrell Lewis, and Chanel Smith; devoted friends, Fannie Williams, Ruby Wafer, Dossie Gray, James and Betty Dotson, Jeanette Dotson and Mary Louis Henderson; host nieces, nephews, other relatives, her Live Oak family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Live Oak Baptist Church, today March 30th, beginning at 5PM followed by a wake from 7-8PM. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 31, 2011, also at the church with Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
