Perry Doddridge Jefferies
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Perry Doddridge JefferiesPerry Doddridge Jefferies was born in Laredo, TX on March 30, 1932 to Rosita Applewhite Jefferies and Perry Doddridge Jefferies, Sr.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, JoAnita Massa Jefferies; sons Kevin Jefferies and wife Shannon Bishop; Craig Jefferies and wife Amy Rozell Jefferies, and Brent Jefferies; daughter Kathleen Ites and husband Eddie Ites; grandchildren Josephine Orr, Beckett Bishop Jefferies, and Jackson Bishop Jefferies; brother Jesse Jefferies and wife Gloria Aguilar Jefferies; and numerous nieces and nephews.

After obtaining a B.A. in Business from St. Mary’s University and serving in the U.S. Armed Services, Perry received a degree from Thunderbird School of Global Management.  His sales experience then brought his family to Galveston, TX where he has resided for the past 42 years.  A faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Patrick Catholic Church, Perry enjoyed attending daily mass while his health permitted.  His spare time was given to volunteer with child advocates and gardening.  While devoted to God, he was equally devoted to his wife and children, whom he loved dearly.

The family greatly appreciates the love and support so many have given to Perry including, caregivers Ebby Ektefaei, Charles Kilgore, Eddie Rodriguez, various family members, and the staff at Libbie’s Place Adult Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 34th & Broadway, on Thursday, April 7th.  Visitation will be held at the church from 11:30am-1:30pm.  Funeral Mass will be at 1:30pm followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.  The family will hold a life celebration at the church hall immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Libbie’s Place, 2803 53rd St., Galveston, TX 77551 in memory of Perry Jefferies.
