The first forum will be held at the Alvin Community College Nolan Ryan Center, 2925 S. Loop 35, on April 19 at 6:30 p.m., for candidates running for mayor and city council positions in Alvin and school board positions for AISD.

The candidates running for mayor of Alvin are Gary Appelt and Little Sanford (write-in). Troy Lewis will be listed on the ballot as running for mayor, as well; however, he recently publicly withdrew from the race.

In the AISD race, Sue Stringer and Bobby Verdine are running for Position 6 and Charles McCauley is running unopposed for Position 7.

The first forum will be videotaped and broadcasted on KACC-TV Comcast Channel 16.

The second forum will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Manvel, 18218 Highway 6, on April 27 at 6:30 p.m., for candidates running for mayor and city council positions in Manvel and school board positions for AISD.

Wilson are running for Position 5. Ron Elkins and Lew Shuffler are running for potential new Position 6, which is included in the charter that will be on the ballot.
