“We accept nominations from anyone who knows or works with UH-Clear Lake alumni,” says Director of Alumni and Community Relations Charity Ellis. “The awards give us an opportunity to recognize our more than 50,000 alumni and our outstanding faculty members and to celebrate the difference they are making in our community and in our world.”
Distinguished alumni have been honored by the university since 1984 and their contributions to the community and workplace are considered a model for future graduates.

The Leadership Service Award goes to alumni whose exceptional leadership and community service efforts contribute to the university’s values and mission while strengthening its ties with the larger community.
Finally, the Outstanding Professor Award is presented to current professors who make a difference inside and beyond the classroom.
Winners of the Distinguished Alumni Awards have their photo displayed on the Distinguished Alumni Wall and have their names engraved on the granite display in Alumni Plaza. The Early Achievement Award, Leadership Service Award and Outstanding Professor Award recipients also have their names placed on a plaque in the university’s Bayou Building, Atrium I.
