“Four million will be funded from the EEA grant, $6.7 million will come from port revenues,” said Port Director Chris Fisher. “We do have the revenues in place.”
Fisher said that three other capital improvement projects in Orange County will be put on hold until the rail project is in place.
“I feel very comfortable we can move through with this project without any new bonds or anything like that,” Fisher said.
“Well Chris, it’s good to see you and your staff moving forward, making plans to continue to bring Orange County around,” said Commission Chair Pete Shelton. “Some day that is going to be very, very valuable to this commission.”
The commission voted to approve a $44,714.75 repair to the port’s 220 American Crane, which was damaged by a lightning strike.
All other agenda items were approved. All votes were unanimous.
Fisher introduced Tracy Mills, the port’s new director of finance, to the board.
The next meeting will be on May 23.
