Joan Patricia Mc EniryJoan Patricia Mc Eniry passed into the loving arms of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, on April 23, 2011. She and her husband were residents of Galveston for 24 years and residents of League City for the past 5 years.

Joanie was born in Carrolton, Georgia on April 30, 1957. Joanie was a person that one would never forget and those that came to know her knew that the she was more than special. She always extended a glowing smile, an open ear, and a loving heart. She cared deeply for all of her friends. She grew up in Jax Beach, FL where she was an accomplished equestrian and surfer. She loved the outdoors and all of God’s creatures. She gave more to life than one could ever expect to receive in return.

Joanie fought a courageous battle with cancer over the past five years. She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Williams of Jacksonville, Fl.  She is survived by her husband, James Mc Eniry and her ‘puppy’ Mercy of League City, TX; her mother and step-father, Patsy and Troy Walden of Monroe, GA; her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Sandy Daniel; her bother and sister-in-law, Brad and Diane Williams; niece, Melissa Daniel; nephews, Jimmy Daniel and Braden Williams of Jacksonville, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Ashley Walden; nieces, Alex and Haley; nephews, Chad II and Stephen; sister, Susan Walden, all of Monroe, GA; bother-in-law, Chuck Mc Eniry and wife Gillian of Kingwood, TX and their daughters, Lauren and Nicole; and brother-in-law, Chip Mc Eniry and wife Nancy of Charleston, SC, and their son Christopher.

Joanie’s family would like to thank the supportive staff at MD Anderson, in particular, Dr. Merrill Kies. The family can not thank the Hospice Care Team of Texas City enough for their tender care and support. All of our love and thanks to Joanie’s friends that stood by her and prayed for her recovery over the years.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 7, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home, 3028 Broadway, Galveston, TX 77550.  The service will be led by Pastor John Newsome of Bay Harbour United Methodist Church of League City.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Hospice Care Team of Texas City, the SPCA, or a charity of choice.
