Board of Trustees
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, April 26, 2011

The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to approve an increase in the price of lunches in the district.

The cost of meals will be increased by $0.05. Meals for elementary school students will cost $1.80 in the 2011-2012 school year, while meals for intermediate and high school students will cost $2.05.

“This is the first time in 10 years CCISD has raised rates and it’s only because a change in federal guidelines mandates we charge more,” Child Nutrition Director Fred Walker said in a news release. “This is not a local decision.” News Release

The board of trustees voted to name principals at various elementary schools.

Deb Reno was named principal of Landolt Elementary in Friendswood. Reno replaces Yolanda Jones, who was previously named principal for Robinson Eleemntary in Seabrook. Kristina Lasserre has been named principal of League City Elementary. Lasserre replaces Cathy Homer, who resigned to complete her doctoral program work.

The school board voted to name Belinda Garcia as the assistant principal at Landolt Elementary.

The school board voted to approve a school bus service agreement with the City of League City Parks and Recreation Department. Under the agreement, the district will provide bus transportation for children who attend a 10-week summer camp at various locations. The district will charge a per hour rate of $36.13, for the bus only, per field trip.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present.  Agenda
