Fine arts open house at San Jac South

HOUSTON —The fine arts department at San Jacinto College South will be hosting its annual open house this Saturday, April 30 in the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts Building.

Presentations and performances from all fine arts programs will be held at the event. The concert band and the jazz band will be in the Proscenium Theatre. The San Jacinto South dance performing arts company (PAC) will be sharing the dance studio in Room 12165 with the flute ensemble. The college/community choir will be singing in Room 12116.  The Black Box Theatre will house demonstrations by the drama department with scheduled performances by the guitar ensemble. The percussion ensemble will perform in Room 12134. Metal forming techniques will be demonstrated in the art studio, Room 12113. Art created in the studio classes will be displayed in the atrium, and the art gallery, Room 12134, will contain the “VisCom 1” exhibit, which includes student work from the visual communications program.

Information will also be available concerning all of the fine arts programs including upcoming performances, scholarship opportunities, and classes available for Summer and Fall. Guests will have the opportunity to observe, participate, and listen to all events, as they will change each half hour.
