FORMER METRO HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES RETURNS TO POST
METRO is bringing back its former head of human resources to steer its People operating principle - focusing on giving employees the direction, skills, confidence and resources to succeed.
Raul Luzzaraga has accepted the position of vice president of human resources at METRO. It’s a position he held at the agency from 2004 to 2006, and one in which he accomplished several goals, such as implementing a fixed rate for METRO’s benefit brokers, which resulted in savings of about $1.2 million.
Luzzaraga most recently worked with Team Industrial Services where he organized its compensation process, among implementing other policies and procedures. His experience also includes work with Coca Cola, 3Com and Nortel/Williams Communications.
He received his MBA from the University of San Francisco and graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Luzzaraga reassumes his role mid-May.
